Our History
Krawford Construction was incorporated in Alberta in 1971 and maintains an office and warehouse facility at 8055 Argyll Road, Edmonton. A branch office is located in Calgary, Alberta.
The president, officer, and majority shareholder is Terry Tanasiuk, C.E.T.
Krawford Construction’s original partners were Humford Developments and Mr. Eugene Krawchuk. In 1984 Mr. Krawchuk sold his share to Humford Developments. At that time, Mr. Barry Hawkeswood was hired to manage the company. Shortly thereafter many of the existing senior managers were hired.
In 1991 Humford developments sold 50% of the business to Krawford Construction’s key employees, including Mr. Terry Tanasiuk. Mr. Terry Tanasiuk became President in 1996 assuming control of the company and then became sole shareholder in 2003. Recently shares were sold to some of the senior members of Krawford Construction.
A Calgary branch was opened in 1997 and has grown steadily establishing itself in the marketplace.
For over 50 years, Krawford Construction has built all types of construction projects, and our experience is very diverse.
Krawford Construction is a leader in Alberta in Construction Management. Our team has been working with clients for over 30 years utilizing the Construction Management approach. This was long before Construction Management was favored.
Our team at Krawford Construction has specialized in Senior Care Facilities throughout Alberta over the past 50 years. We have worked for a wide variety of clients providing renovations and new construction services at Senior Facilities. A large percentage of this work has been for not for profit organizations.
We at Krawford are very proud of the fact that over the past 50 years of building projects we have had satisfied and repeat clients. This is a testimony that we build it right and service our clients appropriately
The Krawford Construction team of employees is a long-term, stable group that works as an extremely cohesive unit. From our field staff, to administrative support, to the president, the average time of employment for our staff is over 15 years. This stability is unmatched in the industry.
